Jenna Zink and Roger Fish Nab Top Honors in the Cannes Young Lions
April 16, 10

Arnold Worldwide today announced 26-year-old Art Director Jenna Zink and 24-year-old Copywriter Roger Fish have been named the winners of this year’s U.S. Young Lions Competition in the print category. Zink and Fish, who are based in Arnold’s Boston headquarters, will go on to compete against more than 30 teams worldwide as part of Team USA at this year’s Cannes International Advertising Festival, to be held June 20-26, 2010 in Cannes, France.
“We are incredibly proud for Jenna and Roger to represent Arnold on the global creative stage at Cannes,” said Andrew Benett, CEO, Arnold Worldwide, and Chief Strategy Officer, Havas Worldwide. “We wish Jenna and Roger the best of luck in this year’s competition, and we look forward to being a part of this year’s festival.”
“It’s great to see a hungry and optimistic duo of young creatives pursue their calling in front of the world’s premier creative audience,” said Pete Favat, Managing Partner and Chief Creative Officer, Arnold Boston. “This is a great example of the philosophy we like to live by here at Arnold - Great Work Works. By doing something this fresh and interactive, Jenna and Roger will not only raise awareness of the Malaria issue, but their ad will also motivate people to buy a bracelet. I want one.”
Zink and Fish were selected for their print advertisement submission for the United Against Malaria “Malaria Safe” bracelet, which generates proceeds for Malaria treatment and prevention throughout the world. Their winning idea was chosen from among more than 80 entries nationwide.

“It’s an amazing feeling to be honored for something you worked so hard for, and something you’re truly proud of,” said Zink. “Cannes is an exceptional forum to be a part of, especially as a young professional, and we look forward to competing there.”
Fish added, “Being a part of the Young Lions team has strengthened our enthusiasm for creativity and the work we get to do everyday. I never thought I would be able to participate in the Cannes advertising festival so early in my career.”
Zink joined Arnold Worldwide Boston in 2006, where she has primarily worked on the Carnival Cruises brand. As copywriter, Fish primarily contributes to Arnold’s work on Progressive auto insurance, and frequently develops copy for Carnival, Panasonic and additional accounts. Outside the office, Fish is also a stand-up comedian.
The United States will send three creative teams to the Young Lions competition to compete in the categories of Print, Cyber and Film. Each team, comprised of an art director and copywriter, and two media planning or buying strategists, will have 24 hours (48 hours for film) to complete the final creative challenge, for an opportunity to win the top honor. To qualify, each team member must be 28 years of age or younger.
